The simplest homes in design are often the most detailed and intricate. We started designing this home when the walls were just starting to get framed out and had to quickly make some design decisions before everything was finalized. It started off thinking through the layout of how the tv/family room interacted with the kitchen and having the discussion of how open the family wanted the kitchen to be to the rest of the main house. The couple quickly decided that it was best to keep the kitchen where it was to maximize storage and still had sightlines to the rest of the house. The design of the space was influenced by the couples modern taste since they lived in Boston for many years before moving to burbs to raise their young family. All the millwork in this home has flat panels with white oak veneer or color that is subtle, but impactful. The powder room has a beautiful and more bold look with the herringbone tile backsplash.
